Resolution #1 - The Half Way Point

You know when you’re on an airplane, watching the flight attendants go through their emergency procedures, and they demonstrate how to put the oxygen mask on yourself first and then your child? Do you know why they do that? It’s because if anything happens to you, you can’t help your child.

Same goes with your health – physical, mental, and emotional.

In this analogy, the child is all three of those things. You are no good to anyone if you’re no good, period.

We're now at the half way point of 2020. It's been a helluva 1st half. It's time for an assessment.

Resolution #1

How are your resolutions going? How are your goals looking? How's your health and the promises you made to yourself at the beginning of the year?

Not liking what you're seeing? Not liking the tailspin 2020 has put you into? You can do something about it. You still have time.

Draw a line in the proverbial sand and make the rest of 2020 about taking back control. About finally putting YOU first! Resolve the rest of 2020 to intention.

Resolution #1 - The Half Way Point. Still Me First

On January 1, 2017, three-and-a-half years ago, that’s exactly what I did and my life did a 180 because of it! Mind over matter. Shear will and determination over excuses.

Saying you're too busy is an excuse.

Saying the world is in disarray is an excuse.

Saying you don't have the time is an excuse.

You have the exact same amount of minutes in your day as I have in mine. That's a fact. If I can do whatever I set my mind to, so can you.

It's the setting of your mind that makes the difference.

I'm a single mom, I run a ranch, I homeschool my child, and I run a home based business. I'm pretty dang busy and can easily put myself last, but I make the choice to put myself first! I'm no good to anyone if I'm, no good.

I don’t care how you do it, just do it.

Make your first resolution of 2020 now, at the half way point. Put YOU first! Make a plan. Set some goals. You don't have to do everything, but shit do something! Here's some suggestions:  

  • Get up earlier. 

  • Get to bed earlier.

  • Start moving your body.

  • Go for a walk - get outside.

  • Make better food choices.

  • Drink more water.

  • Make better supplement choices.

  • Take care of your skin.

  • Get the chemicals off of your body and out of your home.

  • Get away from the TV and get into a good book.

  • Listen to a podcast.

  • Watch something motivational on YouTube.

Start some new healthy habits!

And, surround yourself with people who motivate and inspire you! You don't have to have them physically in your life.

We live in the greatest digital age... you can follow them on your favorite social media channels!

2020 can still be anything and everything you want it to be. But you have to make the decision to make it so. You need to go after it with intention. And don't let the state of the world distract the state of your mind! It’s 100% up to YOU!
